Fjords in Norway

A fjord (pronounced fiord) is a narrow inlet of the sea between cliffs or steep slopes.
Typical characteristics of a fjord include:
- a narrow inlet
- a bottom glacially eroded significantly below sea level (allowing deep-draft vessels to navigate easily) - steep-sided walls which continue to descend below the sea surface
- greater depths in the upper and middle reaches than on the seaward side
- communication with the open sea

It cost me quite alot for the train and boat rides for this visit! Much more than what i spent going OUT of Norway..eeks! But fjords are the essence of Norway!! How can i come all the way here and not see something that is so representative of the country. It's like how all the ang mohs know Singapore for the Merlion, and how it's so clean and safe. Good job Singapore.

Finances aside, the exposure and liberating experience was worth it, and the charming little town Bergen at the end of it was worth it. Honestly though, it wasn't as breath-taking as i expected it to be, but then again, maybe i expected too much. The weather played a part too, i'm sure it'll be much prettier in spring, when the flowers are in bloom and the ice caps have yet to melt!

Still, I have to proclaim that i love travelling!
i love the new sights and sounds
i love how big and wide the world is
i love being out and about

and i'd definitely love more money for me to do all these.

Anyway, there are like hundreds of Fjords here, what i saw is only a fraction of TWO Fjords.. haha..
Enjoy..
